Something completely unrelated got me thinking the other day that all of my favorite actors (that's actors, not actresses) are so much older than me. The actors who are young and popular now are okay, I guess, but I don't feel particularly fan-girly about any of them. No, the actors I love are all old enough to be my father. At least.

It's amazing how little things can make you feel better- like finally getting around to painting your nails. Usually, I wait until it wears off most of my fingers, then take off what's left and paint them again, but I was feeling sort of lazy this week, and almost all of it was gone by the time I went to do them again. But they are now a shiny metallic blue, so I'm happy (plus, the polish helps with my terrible habit of biting my nails, so they'll get a little longer now).

On the other hand, I'm a little bummed after watching StarGate because they've killed off one of my favorite characters! She was sort of a minor character, but I really liked her.
Side note: I love the bit-parts on StarGate when they're actors I know from something else, like T'Pol, Q and the Doctor from Star Trek, little Amanda from Kyle XY, Jayne from Firefly... very amusing:)

Apart from that, I've been trying to clean my room, but the mess is winning. I've started a sixth bin of books that won't fit on my shelves, then I'm going to see if there actually is a spare bed under the pile of stuff there...

My new year's resolution this year was to be better at recording the books I read, and so far, I've been doing pretty good! I've only read six books this year (started on the seventh) but I'm going to do my best to write down at least the title and author of each one.

I've also been using my sporatic time off (I work odd shifts all week) to keep watching "StarGate"- I'm on season 7. And while I do that, I've also been working on my embroidery- I just finished my StarGate handkerchief! I'll post some pictures after it's gone through the laundry.

A random question for everybody on my f-list: what is your favorite version of the Cinderella fairy tale?

My mom loves Cinderella, so I've seen just about every version there is: the Disney animated one; Rogers and Hammerstein's musical (the 50s TV special with Julie Andrews, the 70s one in color with Leslie Ann Warren, and the 90s one with Brandy); "Ever After" with Drew Barrymore; "The Slipper and the Rose" musical; "A Cinderella Story", the Disney Channel one with Hillary Duff; "Another Cinderella Story", another Disney Channel one with Selina Gomez...

But my absolute favorite is the Muppets' "Hey, Cinderella!"
