Trust Me

"Come on, Probie, don't you trust me?"

McGee looked across the van at his partner. "Why do you always ask me that right before you do something stupid?"

Tony looked affronted. "Me? Something stupid? I don't think so, Probie. And if you're going to be that way, may be I won't get you anything from the mini-mart."

"You don't have to get me anything," McGee retorted, "because I'm going in with you. If I let you go in there alone, I'll end up with Twinkies for lunch— which do not count as an actual meal, by the way."

"Do, too," said Tony, as they got out of the van and headed into the mini-mart. "It's got carbs, and sugar, and... sugar."

"Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm going to look for something with a few more vitamins and minerals."

"Wonders of modern science, McHealth-Nut. Nowadays, they can fortify anything with vitamins and— oh, look, they've got Caf-pow! Slushies!"

McGee left his partner by the Slushie machine and started looking through the packaged sandwiches.

"Nobody move!" cried a harsh voice over the store's chatter. People screamed and ran for cover.

McGee ducked behind the sandwich refrigerator, already drawing his gun— across the aisle, he saw Tony do the same.

One man stood between the door and the counter, pointing his gun at the clerk. He wore a black ski mask and looked every inch the classic robber. It was simply his bad luck he'd chosen to hold up the one mini-mart where two federal agents had stopped for lunch.

Looking back at Tony, McGee could see a plan forming in his partner's mind. "Trust me, Probie?" he mouthed.

McGee didn't even have to think.

He nodded, and in perfect unison, they raised their guns and stepped into the open.

"Freeze, NCIS!"

THE END

Caf-pow! Slushies? Oh, I want one. Please .... ;)
Poor Timmy. It's never a good idea to let Tony take care of food. But I think this time it was good that Tim didn't trust him. Two federal agents are better than one when it comes to dealing with bad guys.
*still wants a Caf-pow! Slushi*

Thank you! I know, as soon as I wrote that, I wanted one, too:)

I don't blame Tim at all for going in with Tony and what a good job he did.

Really good.

I loved this! McGee not trusting Tony with things like getting food, but trusting him with his life in dangerous situations. Awesome. Thank you!

Thank you! That's exactly how I see them- fight about little things, but always have your partner's six. You're very welcome:)
